Technical expertise is at the heart of every training session. To achieve this, AJAX delivers the highest level of technical proficiency to our players at every age group. When a player masters the ball & trusts what they can do with it, that player will love the game. AJAX believes winning comes as the natural result of proper development & that winning alone does not foster enjoyment of the game. AJAX passionately believes that winning the "right way” is with expansive, skillful, & dynamic soccer.
AJAX & The USSF
AJAX takes seriously the mandates & instructions of the United States Soccer Federation that young, American soccer players need to be skillful, creative & imaginative on the ball. AJAX coaches demonstrate this by being skillful players in their own right. Players are not chastised for using skill in games, as we strongly believe an emphasis has to be placed on taking risks -- even mistakes -- allowing players to play with complete freedom & expression. By seeking excellence in our players' individual skills, AJAX helps our players make their teams more successful.
Play At The Level You Desire
AJAX players can play at any level they desire - high school, college, amateur, or professional soccer. With practice & a desire to perfect their game technically, there is no reason an AJAX player can't play at any level they set their minds on.
Off The Field
Every aspect of AJAX’s administrative team works transparently, openly, & timely to provide parents & players with a sense of trust. Keeping our soccer families informed is paramount to the success of our players, teams, & club. Our AJAX mobile app, website, & social media pages provide several ways for our families to engage with the club. The AJAX board & Staff encourage positive feedback & open dialogue within the club.
Player Pathway:
NBYSA
RECREATIONAL SOCCER - is the best starting point for ALL players. NBYSA is a volunteer, fully recreational association. Players are introduced to soccer in a fun, stress-free environment.
RecPlus PROGRAM - is for the player that wants insight into AJAX & has a desire to train more often. RecPlus is geared towards individual technical training & is in addition to a players' NBYSA training. Throughout the training sessions, AJAX focuses on basic skills for the individual player
AJAX Academy:
The AJAX Academy training program is for Under-7 to Under-10 players & is designed to introduce young athletes & their families to the challenges & commitments required to effectively participate in competitive soccer. Emphasis is on fundamental development (individual technical skills & decision-making), molding individual players into a competitive team.
AJAX Junior Select
AJAX’s Junior Select program is for Under-11 through Under-14 players. Demands for time & commitment are higher than Academy. Training emphasizes more advanced technical skills with group tactical development. The Junior Select program is designed for the player who is serious about making soccer their primary sport. Top Junior Select teams will be encouraged to compete in state, regional, national, & possibly international competitions.
AJAX Senior Select
AJAX’s Senior Select training program is for Under-15 to Under-19 players. The Senior training program (team attacking & defending tactics), has been designed to be highly competitive. AJAX provides training, matches, college scrimmages & tournament opportunities, including college showcase tournaments, throughout the year. AJAX knows that year-round soccer participation is necessary to compete effectively at the highest levels of soccer, especially for those players who aspire to play soccer in college or beyond. For these reasons, Senior Level players should understand the increased demands & commitment before becoming a member of AJAX.
AJAX NPL Program
AJAX's NPL Program is only for the most dedicated & skillful players. Participation in this program requires commitment to additional training, leadership and ambition. Eligibility for our NPL Program is by invitation only.
AJAX PRE-NPL PROGRAM
AJAX's Pre-NPL Program is for players who are striving to participate in the AJAX NPL Program in the future. Players will have in increased commitment to training, leadership in their current team & ambition to become an elite soccer player. Pre-NPL Teams will travel to tournaments throughout the seasonal year, beyond the local area (Houston or Dallas traditionally).
